What is the Dr. Roger Cleveland Measure of a Man Scholarship?

This scholarship recognizes a college-bound senior who personifies high ethics as demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity and academic history. $1,000 scholarship will be awarded on behalf of the scholarship recipient based on enrollment to an accredited college.

Students must submit a typed, 500 minimum-1,000 maximum word essay double-spaced reflecting on the theme  quote by Dr. King “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands at times of challenges and controversy” and how it relates to you through your BMWA journey.

2020 Recipient: Scholar Blaike Tevis 

Scholar Blaike Tevis is a graduate of Carter G. Woodson Academy where he was a Beta club honor roll scholar, a member of the Student Government Association and the Student Director of the Woodson Institute. Blaike plans to attend the University of Kentucky in the fall with a major in Accounting.
