2019 Graduates

2019 Graduating Class David Arnold Jr., son of David and Anita Arnold and attends Carter G. Woodson Academy. He’s been a member of the BMW Academy for 3 years. David’s college and future plans are to attend a four-year college majoring in mechanical engineering. His most memorable BMW moment is the trip to New York. The BMW Academy has taught David how to be a better scholar. A motto or quote David lives by is, “If it’s meant to be, it’s up to me.” Wisdom or advice David has for current or future BMW Academy student’s is, take advantage of what you have. Khristian Bolden-Sippio, son of the late Rose Cecilia Osborne attends Carter G. Woodson Academy. He’s been a member of the BMW Academy for 6 years. Khristian’s college and future plans are to attend the University of Lousiville majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Khristian’s most memorable BMW moment is, the trip to South Africa. Dorian Cleveland, son of Roger and Audra Cleveland attends Carter G. Woodson Academy. He’s been a member of the BMW Academy for 7 years. Dorian’s college and future plans are to attend the University of Kentucky to major in History. His most memorable BMW moment was the trip to Dubai. The BMW Academy has taught Dorian his academic potential and the essence of a black man. A motto or quote that Dorian lives by is, “If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk, then crawl, just keep moving forward.’ Wisdom or advice Dorian has for current or future BMW Academy student’s is, stay passionate and know from where you came. Jermaine Cole, son of John and Debbie Cole attends Carter G. Woodson Academy. He’s been a member of the BMW Academy for 7 years. Jermaine’s college and future plans are to attend Western Kentucky University majoring in Broadcast Journalism. His most memorable BMW moment was being recognized for his achievements in front of his family and brothers. The BMW Academy has taught Jermaine discipline, brotherhood and self-determination. A motto or quote that Jermaine lives by is, “God gives 2nd, 3rd and beyond chances.” Wisdom or advice Jermaine has for current or future BMW Academy student’s is, don’t believe you cannot do anything ever when you’re on your last chance, God will provide. Allen Crow son of Shane and Shalanda Crow attends Frederick Douglass High School. He’s been a member of the BMW Academy for 7 years. Allen’s college and future plans are to attend Western Kentucky University to study filmmaking. His most memorable BMW moment was having an opportunity to visit Kentucky State University and seeing their great band. The BMW Academy has taught Allen how important it is as a black man to over achieve and prove society wrong. A motto or quote that Allen lives by is, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Wisdom or advice Allen has for current or future BMW Academy student’s is, take your educational career seriously, give 110% at all times. Douglas Elery, Jr., son of Douglas and Dikiea Elery attends Carter G. Woodson Academy. He’s been a member of the BMW Academy for 7 years. Douglas’s college and future plans are to attend Eastern Kentucky University majoring in Entrepreneurship and minoring in Spanish. His most memorable BMW moment is traveling to Dubai and South Africa. The BMW Academy has taught Douglas how to conduct himself as a respectable young man. A motto or quote that Douglas lives by is, “Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.” ~ Oscar Wilde Wisdom or advice Douglas has for current or future BMW Academy student’s is, be yourself, work hard and don’t give up. Thomas Grey-Lewis, son of Willa C. Lewis attends Carter G. Woodson Academy. He’s been a member of the BMW Academy for 7 years. Thomas’s college and future plans are to attend the University of Kentucky majoring in Criminal Law and Political Science. His most memorable BMW moment was traveling to Florida for college tours and visiting Universal Studios in Orlando. The BMW Academy has taught Thomas brotherhood, college and career readiness and a second family that has my back 24/7. A motto or quote that Thomas lives by is, “I’m interested in making a path instead of following a trail.” ~Michael Jackson Wisdom or advice Thomas has for current or future BMW Academy student’s is, treat every Saturday morning at Bracktown like a tutorial to your favorite game. Listen, learn, practice, internalize and be the better player. Dorien Hardin, son of Walter Guy and Aasiyaa Hardin attends Henry Clay High School. He’s been a member of the BMW Academy for 4 years. Dorien’s college and future plans are to attend the University of Louisville. His most memorable BMW moment was traveling to San Francisco. The BMW Academy has taught Dorien that you can never succeed unless you put in the effort. A motto or quote that Dorien lives by is, “The future belongs to those who prepare today.” ~Malcolm X Wisdom or advice Dorien has for current or future BMW Academy student’s is, although things may seem tough never give up and continue to push through. Haiden Hunt, son of Harold and Alicia Hunt, attends Carter G. Woodson Academy. He’s been a member of the BMW Academy for 7 years. Haiden’s college and future plans are to attend Gardner-Webb University on an academic and athletic scholarship majoring in Criminal Justice. Haiden’s most memorable BMW moment is the time he spent traveling to Dubai with his brothers. The BMW Academy has taught Haiden how to handle business as a young black scholar and do things the right way. A motto or quote that Haiden lives by is, “Always remember that David beat Goliath.” Wisdom or advice Haiden has for current or future BMW Academy student’s is, stick with the program and you will see how it changes your life for the better.
