We are thrilled to announce the highly anticipated Black Male Working Academy 2023-2024 Kick-Off Event! We cordially invite all families to join us on August 26, 2023, starting at 10 am. This year’s kick-off will be in conjunction with the Emmanuel “Manny” Caulk Jr Education, Excellence & Equity Lecture Series, and we are honored to have the esteemed Dr. Richard Warren as our keynote speaker.
In collaboration with One Lexington and Community Action, we will be distributing free books and exclusive items to our BMWA young men, while supplies last.
We will see you on August 26th at 10am and you will have the opportunity to meet and greet your BMWA Site Coordinators for the year. Attendance is mandatory for all BMWA scholars and parents, so don’t miss out on this fantastic event!

The vision of Black Male Working Academy is to enhance the quality of life and positively shape the future for African American males through education, collaboration, and exploration.

To close the academic achievement gap that exist in our school system for African American males
To give support to African American males when they take advanced and AP classes
To help African American males to be college & career ready
To provide ACT & SAT Prep Classes
To provide the young men annually with college and educational trips
Provide college scholarships for young men
The Black Male Working Academy started in January of 2005 and is in the process of celebrating 10+ years of making the difference in the lives of African American males.
